As a mobile community center, JCOCE travels to areas of MD, VA, PA & DC to provide new experiences, resources, and guidance for residents in those areas.
Our goal is to lift up and inspire our communities to be the very best version of themselves. We accomplish this through initiatives and activities that touch all age groups. Our work will be done with compassion and excellence at all times.
New Experiences for Our Youth
We believe in exposing our youth to new experiences that will broaden their perspectives on life.
JCOCE sponsored a field trip to La Plata, MD for young people and their parents who reside in Baltimore. While there, we fished and met Mayor Jeannine James. We have also hosted trips to the African American Museum and the Atlas Theater in DC to expose children to the fine arts.
The experience helped to broaden their worldview and taught life lessons in patience, perseverance, and history.
Recognition for Academic Achievement
JCOCE has sponsored ceremonies to honor GED recipients, as well as Jr High & High School students. We’ve also provided scholarships to young people enrolled in college.
We choose to invest in and encourage our youth to strive towards being their best in life.
Our work has motivated others to continue on their academic journey, helped with college degree programs, and reinforced the importance of never giving up on life long goals.
Community Events
We have provided a number of services to the communities that we serve which include engagement with the elderly, recognition of community role models, and career fairs aimed at helping connect others to opportunities for future employment.
With each event, we’ve brought a meaningful and positive experience to the lives of others.
